- PURPOSE: A remote controller for controlling devices using a function group and a method of controlling the device are provided to simplify the layout of the remote controller by comprising only basic buttons and forming/storing various functions of the devices as a single group, that is, a function group editable by a user. CONSTITUTION: The first storage part(130) stores various functions of controlled devices operated by a signal from a remote controller. The second storage part(140) sequentially stores a plurality of the functions selected from the functions stored in the first storage part. A display part(110) displays the functions stored in the first and second storage parts. A user input part(160) is used for the selection of the functions desired by a user and for simultaneous execution of the selected functions. A control part(120) receives an input signal from the user input part and performs a command corresponding to the input signal.
