PURPOSE:To reduce the current sonsumption by a comparator circuit, by installing a switch in position between a backup battery feeding a memory circuit with a current and the comparator, while opening or closing the switch with check starting and completion signals. CONSTITUTION:A memory circuit 17 is fed with a current by means of an OR circuit between a power source 18 and a backup battery 19, while the voltage of the battery 19 is compared and monitored by a comparator circuit 16. In addition, a switch 20 is inserted into a sapce between the battery 19 and the comparator circuit 16, controlling a flip-flop 30 by means of the input of a check starting signal 1 and closing the switch 20, then the compared result is outputted from a holding circuit 15 and furthermore the flip-flop 30 is reset by the input of a check completion signal 2 whereby the switch 20 is opened. Therefore, the comparator circuit 16 is operated at a regular interval along or only when it is desired to do so with a pushbutton 21, thus current consumption can be reduced.
