- <p>The system produces a pressing from curds for cheese-making, a block of curds being cut off from a column emerging from a vertical strainer cylinder, transferred to a cheese press and compressed. The block is compressed in the press in a position titled >=30 degrees to the horizontal, esp. 90 degrees. There may be a vertical sleeve, dimensioned to admit the incoming block, and sliding horizontally over a table plate. A support plate is raised from a position flush with the table plate to inside the sleeve. Part of the wall of the latter is cut away from the bottom for a height greater than that of the block to allow penetration of the plate formed on the table plate to tilt the block into the press, into which it falls under gravity.</p>
