- <p>Bituminous materials contain (A) bitumen, (B) hardened extract, (C) thermoplastic rubber, (D) fine-particle non-thermoplastic rubber and (E) 50-90%, based on total wt. of filler. Used for the prodn. of flexible components with vibration- and sound-adsorbing properties, for use in the building and automobile industries, and in carpet underlay, etc. Good vibration and sound-damping properties, with shape retention up to 110 degrees C for 5 h., and flexibility over a wide temp. range.</p>
