摘要:
PURPOSE:To provide a titled alloying layer for the purpose of providing high corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance particularly to the surface layers of castings by contg. respective powders of low carbon ferrochromium or Cr and ferronickel or Ni and respective components of a phenolic resin and alcohol at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:An alloying material for surface layers of casting wherein the proportions of the above-described respective portions are 0.5-2.5pts.wt. basing on 2pts.wt. Cr and the total amt. of Cr and Ni is 24-98% total weight except alcohol is provided. This liquid alloying material is coated on the inside surface of molds to form corrosion and oxidation resistant layers, after which molten metal (e.g.; carbon steel SC42) is charged in the molds, whereby it is cast. It alloys the surface layers of the resultant cast metal, and makes castability, machinability, weldability, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance higher as compared to the case when the entire part of castings are cast of Ni-Cr steel.
