A wraparound recoverable sleeve (1) for encapsulating cable splices has a flap (7) which underlies opposing edges (4) to provide a seal between them. The flap has recoverable longitudinal corrugations (8) which reduce the tendency of edges of the flap to dig into the overlying sleeve as the sleeve recovers. The lateral flexibility of the flap (7) is increased by the corrugations (8), and longitudinal bending is resisted until the corrugations (8) have recovered away and the material of the flap (7) softened. The corrugations (8) may be filled with a sealing material.
