PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a switch which specifies an addresser individually by reading the addresser of picture information on a mark sheet, and starting transmission by automatic dialing during multiple address communication. CONSTITUTION:When a transmission button is pressed, a readout part 15 reads the mark sheet and stores the communication mode and addresser for multiple address communication in an RAM5. The readout part 15 reads the transmit original and sends the read picture information to a CPU2 for picture signal processing, where compression processing is carried out. The compressed picture information is passed to a CPU3 for controlling picture information storage through a data bus 22. The CPU3 stores the picture information in a mass- storage RAM21. A main control CPU1 monitors the storing operation of the picture information and actuates an automatic dialing part 9 when the storage is completed to dial the addresser number. At this time, the 1st abbreviated dial number registered in an RAM5 is read out and a corresponding dial number stored in an RAM6 is dialed automatically.
