摘要：: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines is described, in which a pump piston (17) is moved by a cam drive (12, 13) in the pumping direction and by at least one return spring unit (30) in the suction direction. So that the build-up of resonant modes of the helical compression spring (35, 40) of the return spring unit is damped, a damping element (36; 41) is assigned to the helical compression spring. A first embodiment of the damping element takes the form of a flexible sleeve (36), which is arranged coaxially inside the helical compression spring touching its inside. A second embodiment of the damping element is designed as a flexible ring (41) supporting the helical compression spring (40), which ring has an inner layer (42) of flexible material and two outer layers (43, 44) firmly connected to this. <IMAGE>
