摘要：: Immediately following the last roll stand in a wire rolling mill, a cooling tube 1 is located upstream of water stripper jet 3, air stripper jet 4 and suction stripper jet 5. There are a plurality of stripper channels 2 of which the sum of their lengths, including the intermediate spaces therebetween, represent at least the length of one cooling tube 1. In the stripper channels 2 the cooling water jet from the cooling tube 1 is substantially broken up and flows away, the stripper channels periodically varying in cross-section and incorporating inlet funnels. The feed water for the water stripper jet 3 and suction stripper jet 5 comes from the same system that supplies water for the cooling tube 1. <IMAGE>
