PURPOSE:To enhance writability with a pencil, antistatic properties, and type printability by incorporating a specified amt. of polymer latex in a backing layer. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide photographic constituent layers on one side of a hydrophobic support and on its reverse side a backing layer is formed contg. as a component A a water-soluble polymer having carboxy or sulfo groups or its salt or a hydrophilic polymer colloidal substance or its salt, and as a component B an inorg. matting agent. A preferable amt. of component A is 15-150mg/m<2>. A component C of a polymer latex is added to the backing layer in the following range of ratio to the component A by weight: component A: component C=95:5-10:90.
