摘要:
PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of thermal conductivity and friability, that is a problem when the amt. of water used as a blowing agent is increased, and to enable the production of a rigid polyurethane foam with a reduced amt. of a chlorofluorocarbon used by using an imidazole compd. as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:In a process for producing a rigid polyurethane foam by reacting a polyol with a polyisocyanate in the presence of a catalyst, a blowing agent, a foam stabilizer, and other required auxiliary additives, the blowing agent comprises 2.0 pts.wt. or higher water and 35 pts.wt. or lower halogenated hydrocarbon (pref. a chlorofluorocarbon such as trichloromonofluoromethane) based on 100 pts.wt. polyol, and the catalyst comprises an imidazole compd. of the formula (wherein R1 is 1-4C alkyl, benzyl, etc.; R2 is H, 1-4C alkyl, aryl, etc.; and R3 and R4 are each H, CH3, etc.) (e.g. 1-methylimidazole), thus producing a rigid polyurethane foam with a bulk density of 10-60kg/m<3>. Thus, the deterioration of thermal conductivity and friability, that is a problem when the amt. of water used as a blowing agent is increased, is reduced and the amt. used of a chlorofluorocarbon which has an ozone depleting potential can also be reduced.
