摘要：: <p>Thermally mouldable, mineral fibre-reinforced semi-finished products are produced by (a) impregnating mats of long material fibres reinforced with a binder with an aqs. suspension of a vinyl polymer with >=40% dry material, the polymer having a softening pt of at least 70 degrees C, (b) drying the impregnated mats, and (c) heating them to form a continuous layer of vinyl polymer. The binder of the mats of mineral fibres does not dissolve in the vinyl polymer and the amt of the suspension of vinyl polymer absorbed by the mats is sufficient to give a dry semi-finished product contg. 40-70% wt vinyl polymer. Mats with wts up to 1500 g/m2 can be rapidly and continuously impregnated with the vinyl polymer in a single operation, with complete elimination of occluded air. The wt of the mat per sq.m. can be varied as desired. The products are flexible and give articles with excellent mechanical props.</p>
