- <p>A method for preventing collision of a moving shaft of a wire electric discharge machine in which at least one moving shaft (8) is driven and controlled by a servomotor (M) comprising the steps of configuring a control system for a servomotor for the moving shaft (8) which drives and controls at least one moving shaft so as to include therein a disturbance estimating observer, allowing the disturbance observer to estimate the load of a disturbance applied to the moving shaft, comparing the estimated disturbance with a pre-set value, and judging that the moving shaft is brought into collision with an obstacle when the estimated disturbance exceeds the pre-set value, thereby preventing a damage from the collision of the moving shaft of the wire electric discharge machine through the collision detection resulting from the judgement. <IMAGE></p>
