The back part of the seat (4,5) is freely suspended and is fixed to the seat support (1). The seat has two superimposed, sprung elastic panels of which the top and bottom seat panels (4,5) are fixed together at the front and back of the chair. Both seat panels are fixed to the seat support. The back of the seat can yield downwards. A spacer piece (2) is fixed between the two seat panels at one seat end. A bar (3) acting as spacer and fatter at the ends than in the middle is inserted between the top and bottom seat panels and can be moved to and fro. Between the seat panels and near the part between the seat support and backrest (6) is a sprung spacer piece at right angles to the seat plane.
