摘要：

PURPOSE: To provide a dimming device for discharge lamp which allows a wide range dimming and a continuous dimming. CONSTITUTION: An inverter 1 as a dimming device receives the supply of an AC input 2a from a commercial power source 2 of single phase, and outputs an AC output 1 having a constant output voltage Vi value and a continuously variable output frequency Fi value. The output 1a is supplied to a discharge lamp 3 through a ballast 4. The output 1a of the inverter 1 is set so that the output voltage Vi value is equal to the value of the rated voltage Vc of the AC input 1a even when the voltage value of the AC input 2 is varied, and the lowest value of the frequency Fi value is equal to the value of the rated frequency Fc of the AC input 2a.
