A bag-making and stacking apparatus comprises a V-board for receiving and folding a web of sheet material, a bag-making machine for receiving the folded web, means for cutting and sealing the web across the machine to form bags, and means for adjustably mounting said V-board for motion at 45 degrees to the double web-edge side of the bag-making machine for controlling the overlap at folding while maintaining one edge of the web fold in a fixed lateral position. A frame 52, Figs. 1B and 1E, has parallel 45-degree tracks 52a, 52b mounting a V-board carriage 53 on rollers 53a, for adjustment by a vernier screw 54 to shift the V-board in the directions of the arrow A, whereby the edge E is held in a fixed lateral position while varying the lip width between the edge E and the edge of the upper folded-over part of the web. The subject matter is the same as that of Specification 1,166,111.</p>
