- In order to improve the efficiency of a dry valve system, a scavenge pump is employed when the system is operated in an idle or dry mode. The scavenge pump is connected to the output of an implement pump so as to reduce the discharge pressure of an implement pump in the system to the inlet pressure of the pump.
