The invention concerns an ironing press, comprising a base (1) bearing an ironing plate (6), a sleeve board (7) and an articulated arm (3) for manoeuvring a heating plate (4), movable between two positions, in one of which the heating plate (4) is pressed against the ironing plate (6) or the sleeve board (7). Said ironing plate (6) and said sleeve board (7) are mounted on the base (1) so as to enable their alternating displacement from a working position to a retracted position and inversely. The ironing plate (6) and the sleeve board (7) are each articulated to the base (1) and are interconnected by a linking member (15) providing a kinematic linkage between them.
