Fluid for storing contact lenses is based on an aqueous solution containing more than 5 ppm and especially more than 10 ppm of a disinfecting agent (I). Also claimed is: (1) a procedure for cleaning a contact lens by immersing it in the claimed disinfectant-containing fluid; and (2) a procedure for rinsing the lens after cleaning using a fluid containing an isotonic solution supplied from an ampoule.
