PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare paste-like flavoring sauce for food baked in casserole, capable of preventing the sauce from dripping down from food stuffs and excellent in luster, taste and flavor by including specific solid particles in a specific content ratio and by retaining the viscosity of the sauce within a specific range while thermal cooking. SOLUTION: This paste-like flavoring sauce for food baked in casserole which is used by being sprinkled on foodstuffs before thermal cooking is prepared by including 20-60 wt.% solid particles (e.g. raw material for miso) having a particle diameter passing through 900 μm sieve and remaining on 30 μm one and by retaining 100-10,000 mPa.s viscosity of the sauce while thermal cooking. It is pref. that the sauce contains 5-70 wt.% raw material for miso, 1-40 wt.% edible oil and 1-20 wt.% spicy vegetables and further contains sour raw material, and is pH 4.2-4.9.
