- PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To melt refuse continuously by providing a section for feeding refuse to a melting section in a furnace chamber, and a section for feeding particulate thermit mixture and disposing a molten slug discharging section on the downstream side of the melting section in a furnace chamber. SOLUTION: The refuse melting furnace 1 comprises a furnace body 2, a central refuse throw-in pipe 9, a thermit mixture throw-in pipe 11, a melting section 31, and a molten slug discharging section 33. A central feeding pipe 9a is inserted into a top cover section 3 while conducting with the central refuse throw-in pipe 9 has a feeding end part, at the lower part thereof, extended to the central feeding section 32 in the furnace chamber 30. Lower end part of the central feeding pipe 9a is bent toward the melting section 31 and opened, at the forward end thereof, toward the melting section. A molten slug guide 12a is formed in eaves shape at the fringe of an opening in the furnace chamber 30 at a molten slug outlet 12. Molten slug is discharged while dripping from the molten slug guide 12a of eaves shape to the outside of the furnace chamber 30.
