PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transmission type screen which is to be used in the combination with a liquid crystal projector or the like, and on which an projected image with good viewing angle, high resolution, high contrast and high quality can be obtd. while hardly producing moires or speckles. SOLUTION: This transmission type screen is used to project an optical image by using a liquid crystal projector or the like. The screen has a polarizing film 2 having >=96% polarization degree disposed between a light-diffusing layer 1 having 0.4 to 1.1 mm thickness and a light-transmitting plastic sheet 3, with these layers joined with transparent adhesive layers 2a into one body. The light-diffusing layer 1 consists of a light-transmitting plastic base body 1a which contains light-transmitting and diffusing material 1b having a refractive index different from that of the base body 1a. The base material 1a of the light-diffusing layer and the base material 3a of the light transmitting plastic sheet are made of the same material.
