- <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the flaw of an image substantially inconspicuous in an LED array printer, by absorbing the shift of pixel data caused by the line shift between LED arrays and reducing the adverse effect exerted on an image of the inferior light emitting element in the LED arrays. SOLUTION: At least, two LED arrays A, B equal in accuracy are used and the light emitting elements 1001, 1002 of the LED arrays A, B are arranged so that they are shifted by one line in the direction Y crossing the arranging direction X of the light emitting elements at a right angle, the intervals (d) between them become uniform in the arranging direction, and control is performed so that line data (image data) is outputted to the LED arrays A, B at the same time by using a memory and a latch circuit. The formation of a highly accurate image is realized by this constitution, the inferior light emitting elements in the LED arrays A, B are detected, and control is performed so that a latent image is not formed by a pixel scheduled in the formation of the latent image by the inferior light emitting elements but formed by the left and right pixels thereof.</p>
