<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar having a high receiving sensitivity by a simple hardware constitution which can be improved in receiving sensitivity and eliminates a local oscillator and a plurality of frequency converters in comparison with the conventional constitution. SOLUTION: Electromagnetic waves irradiating a target and reflected from the target are received by a receiving antenna selected by a predetermined timing as a switch is changed over by a control signal from a switch change- over signal-generating circuit. A receiving mixer to which a receive signal from the switch and part of a transmission signal from a power distributor are inputted converts the frequency and outputs an intermediate frequency signal. A mixer for the intermediate frequency signal to which the intermediate frequency signal outputted from the receiving mixer and the control signal from the switch change-over signal-generating circuit are inputted converts the frequency and outputs a base band signal including information on a distance and a relative velocity of the target.</p>
