SOLUTION: This device includes a first ROM 7 of storing a firmware for activation having an activation program of activating a microcomputer system 1 and a communication program of conducting communication with a host computer 2, a RAM 5 of temporarily storing data down loaded from the host computer 2, and a second ROM 8 of storing a firmware for control of controlling the operation of an electronic appliance. A deletion/writing program for deleting and writing the firmware for control stored in the second ROM 8 and the firmware for control are transmitted from the host computer 2.
