<p>Oxo cpds. with juvenile hormone activity. Title cpds. of formula (I) (where m and n are 1-4; R1-5 are alkyl and R12 is H or lower alkyl) are useful for combatting insects; they are also useful as lubricants, softeners for hydrocarbon polymers, perfumes and intermediates for polymerisable epoxides. (I; R12 lower alkyl) can be prepd. by reacting an acid (II) with a lower alkyl lithium in an organic solvent. (I; R12=H) can be obtained by reducing an alkyl ester of (II) and subjecting the resulting 1 degree alcohol to controlled oxidation.</p>
