Comprises introducing gromwell-reed, unpolished rice, mugwort, boxthorn, leaves of arrow root or cayenne pepper into a dry distillation vessel equipped with a vacuum rolling dry-distillation vessel and a cooling condenser, and drying by distillation at 50 to 250 degrees C (pref. 70-130 degrees C) under vacuum with rolling to give a semicarbonized distillate having some medicinal activities and preservative quality, and a dry distilled liquid at the same time.
