PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burglar camera device of an elevator capable of surely detecting a person who tampered with or stole a camera for photographing the picture of the interior of a car. SOLUTION: This burglar camera device of the elevator comprises an object detector 7 detecting that an object approaches the camera 6, an image signal detector 8 detecting that image signals from the camera 6 are interrupted, an abnormality detection part 13 detecting the abnormality of the camera 6 based on signals from the detectors 7 and 8, an external notification part 15 for notifying the abnormality to the outside, and an elevator control instruction part 14 closing the car 4 and outputting a control instruction to invalidate an elevator operation.
