<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film having excellent heat resistance in spite of an aliphatic polyester, having good transparency possessed by the aliphatic polyester and further excellent adhesion between functional layers laminated in post-processing and especially suitable for optical uses. <P>SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester film is composed of a polyester consisting essentially of 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid and 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol as repeating units and having≥200°C melting point. The film has a coated layer on at least one surface thereof, contains at least one kind of resin selected from the group of a polyester resin, an acrylic resin and a polyurethane resin in the coated layer and the total light transmittance of the whole film including the coated layer is≥89%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
