A direct type backlight unit is provided to be configured an LED module, and a frame separately, thereby simplifying assembling process. A plurality of direct type LED packages(11) are adhered on the top of the printed circuit board(12). The plurality of LED modules(10) have a heat radiating plate(13) which outputs heat to the outside. A reflector is adhered to a plane where a plurality of LED package are not existing for reflecting light to the front side. A guide rail connector(15) is formed on a heat radiating plate which is attached at the bottom of the PCB of the LED module.
