- PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance workability by reducing the number of wires in an LED illumination system 100 which performs dimming control based on a dimming signal. SOLUTION: The LED illumination system 100 includes: an AC/DC conversion part 110, a dimming interface part 120, and a current control part 130. The AC/DC conversion part 110 converts an AC voltage of a power supply to a DC voltage. The dimming interface part 120 is connected to a dimmer 102 which outputs a pulse signal representing dimming information, and converts the DC voltage obtained by the AC/DC conversion part 110 to a pulse voltage which changes the polarity of a voltage, in accordance with the level of the voltage of the pulse signal output from the dimmer 102. The current control part 130 is connected to a light source, turns on the light source using the pulse voltage obtained from the dimming interface part 120 as electric power, and dims the light source based on the polarity of the pulse voltage.
