- PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit and a method for driving a load using a power factor correction function.SOLUTION: The circuit includes a power line, a converter circuit and a controller. The power line is operable so as to supply an input current and an input voltage. The converter circuit coupled with the power line converts the input voltage into a regulated voltage in order to drive the load and is operable so as to supply a current detecting signal showing whether a converter current running through the converter circuit is lowered to a prescribed level. The controller coupled with the converter circuit is operable so as to correct a power factor of a circuit based on the current detecting signal and the input voltage as a waveform of the input current follows a waveform of the input voltage.
