- PURPOSE: A method for inducing autophagy of tumor cells using bacteria adherent polysaccharides is provided to effectively remove variant tumor cells. CONSTITUTION: A method for inducing autophagy of tumor cells comprises a step of adding bacteria adherent polysaccharides(cb-EPS) isolated from Lactobacillus acidophilus 606(deposit number KCCM-10663P) into tumor cells. The autophagy is induced by cb-EPS through expression of Beclin-1 and GRP78. The tumor cells are HT-29 colorectal cancer cells. An anticancer agent contains Lactobacillus acidophilus 606(deposit number KCCM-10663P) or bacteria adherent polysaccharides(cb-EPS) isolated from the bacteria. A health food for preventing cancer contains the Lactobacillus acidophilus 606(deposit number KCCM-10663P) or cb-EPS.
