- <p>A system for tracking and managing oil and gas infrastructure assets comprises a central database. An identification tag, such as a barcode or RFID for example, is mounted on each asset and stores an identifier. Manufacture information is received from a manufacturer data source and validated against data integrity rules to promote data accuracy in the central database. Further, history information is collected from a plurality of entities, during a lifecycle of the asset. For a given asset, the central host database associates the validated manufacture information and the history information to a unique identifier corresponding to the identifier stored in the identification tag of the corresponding asset. A reporting engine is in communication with the central database and provides accessibility to remote devices, for tracking and managing the asset, from the remote device, based on the manufacture information and the history information.</p>
