<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purifier cartridge at a lower cost which stably maintains elution of antimicrobial ions for surely preventing a possibility of propagation of bacteria in purified water while maintaining performance for adsorption and removal of organic matter, heavy metals, and the like. <P>SOLUTION: Filter media accommodated in the water purifier cartridge comprise an antimicrobial adsorbent supporting an antimicrobial agent, a non-antimicrobial adsorbent, and an ion exchanger capable of ion-exchanging heavy metals. A filter media layer A in which the antimicrobial adsorbent, the non-antimicrobial agent, and the ion exchanger are mixed is disposed upstream of the cartridge, and a filter media layer B in which the antimicrobial adsorbent and the non-antimicrobial agent are mixed is disposed downstream of the cartridge. A ratio of the antimicrobial agent to the non-antimicrobial agent is 10-19 wt.%/81-90 wt.%. In the filter media layer A, a ratio of the adsorbents (the sum of the antimicrobial adsorbent and the non-antimicrobial adsorbent) to the ion exchanger is 92-98 wt.%/2-8 wt.%. A ratio of the filter media packed in the filter media layer A to the filter media packed in the filter media layer B is 40-60 wt.%/60-40 wt.%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
