- The present invention relates to a plant growth regulator or a herbicide comprising a purified extract of cinnamon and, more specifically, to a purified extract of cinnamon with excellent capacity for inhibiting plant germination, radicle growth, or plant growth, and to a natural plant growth regulator or a herbicide using the same. The cinnamon extract and the purified extract thereof of the present invention have excellent effects in inhibiting plant germination, radicle growth, or plant growth at initial and middle stages. The purified product for purifying the cinnamon extract with an organic solvent (desirably, dichloromethane) and the organic solvent (desirably diethyl ether) extract have significantly excellent effects in inhibiting germination, radicle growth or plant growth at initial and middle stages.
