The invention relates to a connector for motor vehicles. More specifically, the invention relates to a connector comprising contact-bearing modules (123). For example, the connector comprises a housing (110) housing two lateral modules and one central module (123) itself inserted between the two lateral modules. Each of these modules is locked into the housing (110) by an independent locking mechanism. The locking mechanism (160) for the central module (123) comprises a fixed snug (164) borne by the central module (123) and a cantilevered hook (163) situated on the housing (110). The housing also has a cavity (162). This cavity (162) may potentially be used to house a fuse. This cavity (162) also allows access to the locking mechanism (160) of the central module (123) in order to operate it. The cantilevered hook (163) can be disengaged from the snug (164) by pressure (P) on the cantilevered hook (163) which is rendered possible by the space left by the cavity (162).
