A post reinforcement including a panel having a body portion and a stake portion. The post reinforcement further includes a first barb coupled to and extending away from the panel, wherein the first barb is generally positioned on a first side of the panel. The post reinforcement also includes a second barb coupled to and extending away from the panel, wherein the second barb is generally positioned on a second side of the panel opposite the first side.

A post reinforcement comprising: a first panel including a body portion and a stake portion; a second panel coupled to said first panel at a first side thereof and oriented generally perpendicular thereto; a third panel coupled to said first panel at a second, opposite side thereof and oriented generally perpendicular thereto, said first, second and third panels defining a receptacle therebetween, wherein said stake portion extends from a bottom of the first panel at least partially inwardly in a direction toward an interior of the receptacle in a direction moving downwardly from the bottom of the first panel; and a barb coupled to and extending away from one of the panels, wherein said barb is generally positioned on a first side of the one of the panels, wherein the post reinforcement lacks a fourth panel positioned opposite to the first panel and the post reinforcement is generally “U” shaped in top view to thereby enable a post to be laterally positioned in or removed from said receptacle.
