PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system which does printing by connecting a plurality of printers together, and which can enhance flexibility of printing processing for the vicinity of a seam by detecting the seam between continuous forms by means of a simple constitution. SOLUTION: When instructions on the restart of the printing are provided by splicing paper (100-106), the printing is restarted (110) after the number of blank pages and the setting of a stop in a stacker are read in (108). A position of the seam between the continuous forms is computed (114) from a continuous-form movement amount, detected by a continuous-form carrying part, and a predetermined reference point. When the position of the seam reaches a blank-page inserting position, the blank pages equivalent to the set number of the blank pages are inserted (the printing equivalent to the number of the blank pages is prohibited) (116-118), and the printing is continued (120).
