PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a set load of a valve spring in a control valve of a negative pressure booster. SOLUTION: A valve part 34a of a valve element 34 is tightly and slidably engaged with the inner peripheral surface of a valve cylinder 10, and a front annular chamber 45A closed on the front surface of the valve part 34a when the valve part 34a is seated on a negative pressure introducing valve seat 30 and a rear annular chamber 45B facing the back surface of the valve part 34a are formed in the valve cylinder 10. The front annular chamber 45A is communicated with a first port 28, and the rear annular chamber 45B is communicated with a second port 29. When an atmosphere introducing valve seat is separated from the valve part 34a of the valve element 34 by progressing an input lever and the valve part 34a is seated on the negative pressure introducing valve seat 30, the valve part 34a is energized to the seating direction on the negative pressure introducing valve seat 30 by the set load of the valve spring 36 and the atmosphere difference between the front and rear annular chambers 45A and 45B. Thus, the energizing force by the atmosphere difference and the set load of the valve spring can be reduced.
